FAQs

1. Are there other ways I can help besides giving money?

YES! We accept item donations. They can be found on the Shopping List page.

You can also help us by spreading the word about our organization. If you attend a church or are part of a group, we would love to come and share with you what we are doing.

2. Do you take used items?

Our baskets are a gift to someone starting over, so we prefer new items. However, if you enjoy knitting or crocheting, we love including homemade wash clothes, hot pads, or blankets.

3. What is HSI?

HSI, or Humanitarian Social Innovations, is our fiscal sponsor who helps start up and assist other non-profits. Blessed Beginnings falls under HSI’s umbrella along with many other amazing organizations. They allow us to stay focused on our mission and doing the fun stuff while they handle the back-office responsibilities with the state. We are glad to be part of the HSI family.

From HSI: “Humanitarian Social Innovations supports grassroots movements and both local and global nonprofit ventures. Our goal is to consolidate these programs’ back-office tasks and help our partners access tax-exempt funds, focus on their mission, and maximize the social impact of their work.”
